Do a background check on any individual who is offering you an investment opportunity. The CSA Disciplined Persons List identifies individuals that have been subject to penalties in various jurisdictions. The comprehensiveness of the listings varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. For Alberta specific information, place the individual’s name in the “Search” area at the top of the ASC website.
