New tips for “Sandwich Generation”

Have you heard of the term “Sandwich Generation”? This generation refers to adults who are responsible for their own needs as well as the care and support of both their dependent children and elderly family members.

As part of the ASC’s ongoing efforts to protect a wide range of investors, we’ve created a new Sandwich Generation section on our website that will help you or others you know tackle some of the unique financial decisions that come with planning for your own economic needs as well as the current and future needs of your family.

I’ve been an active member of a project group with the North American Securities Administrator’s Association (NASAA) that was specifically formed to address the financial issues facing this growing demographic. As a result, we’re now able to offer this new information that can help you address:

  • Considerations for your children
  • What you need to think about
  • How to prepare for aging parents

Learn how to start financial conversations with your children and your parents and use the checklists to help out along the way. We think you’ll find the information helpful and encourage you to share it with friends and family.

Until next time…
