Fraud Prevention Month recap

We kicked off Fraud Prevention Month early this year with the CheckFirst Café popping up again at the Calgary Home and Garden Show in February. Later on in March, the CheckFirst Café made another appearance at the Lethbridge Home and Garden Show, continuing to educate Albertans on the importance of checking first before investing. At both shows, we spoke to over 5,550 Albertans, reminding them that the ASC is here to help them become more educated investors with our free tools and resources

The CheckFirst Café also popped up in Edmonton this March, taking over the Three Bananas Café in Winston Churchill Square for a morning. Visitors were able to learn about fraud awareness and prevention while enjoying treats courtesy of the ASC, including a “fraud-accino” and “moneyless muffin.” At the Café takeover, we spoke to approximately 500 visitors about how they can learn to protect themselves and their financial futures.
